Kevin Kleinhelter the founder of K2 Construction uses his 29 years of knowledge in construction and landscape architecture in every project. His focus is to aid in the preservation, restoration and evolution of Atlanta’s older homes.  When constructing new homes in historic neighborhoods he strives to make it a cohesive addition to the surroundings homes.  Through the use of quality materials, exquisite design and attention to details he create homes that push the envelope.  K2 is dedicated to making the construction process as painless as possible, whether working with an Architect and Interior Designer on a large project or implementing your own ideas on a smaller project.

Raised in Jacksonville Florida, Kevin attended the University of Georgia receiving a degree in Landscape Architecture.  After college Kevin joined a golf design firm in Georgia, where he spent five years traveling the southeast executing the design and construction of several golf courses.  In 1997 he became a project architect for Post Properties, managing the construction of all aspects of the outdoor amenities on Post Apartments.  Such as designing, estimating and overseeing the installation of softscapes and hardscapes on Post Properties throughout the southeast.

Fulfilling a lifelong ambition for building custom homes, Kevin joined the firm of Mike Hammersmith General Contracting in 2003.  Given the opportunity to work with some of Atlanta’s finest architects and designers, Kevin has built and renovated many fantastic homes in Atlanta’s Buckhead neighborhood.  He uses his design background as a Landscape Architect and attention to detail to unify a homes interior with it’s exterior.

Kevin is married to Lee Kleinhelter, owner of high end furniture boutique in Buckhead called Pieces.  They enjoy using their background to build custom homes that have been featured in various national magazines. Their spaces are an example of both talents put together;  quality building with attention to detail combined with unique clean style and design.
